ADVICE FOR THE LISTENING SECTION

• Be are sure to adjust the volume before you begin listening section, you will have an opportunity to adjust the volume on your headset. Be sure to do it before you dismiss the directions and begin the test. After the test has begin,you may not adjust the volume.
• Do not let the visuals of people distract you from listening to the short conversations. We all responds in different ways to picture. If you become too involved in looking at the pictures,you may pay less attention to the recording. For the most part the picture of people are for orientation to the short conversation after you look brielly at the picture give your conversation to the conversation if you take the model teast on the CD-ROM that may supplement this book,first practice by watching the screen during the short conversation and then by closing your eyes or looking away during the conversation, find in the best way for you listen to test part of the last.
• Focus on the visuals of object, art, specimens, maps, charts, and drawing in the talks. In general the pictureof people are for orientation to the talks, where as visual of objects,art,specimens,maps charts and drawing support the meaning of the talks. Do not focus and the picture of people. Do focus on the other visuals the appear during the talks. They could reappear in aquestion. When you take the models test,practice selective. Disregard the picture of the lecturer and the students, and be alert to the other visuals.
• Be sure to read the question while you are hearing it the questions will be show on the screen while you are hearing them. If you find that it is to your adventage to close your eyes or look away during the short conversations be sure to give your full attention to the screen again will the question is being asked. During the questions for longer conversations andtalks, watch the screen carefully. By using the model teast, you will be able to develop a rhytm for interacting with the screen that is to your advantage.

LISTENING COMPREHENSION

-SCM the question first,trying to imagine what type of questions will be asked.
-Listen carefully attempting to hear the answer to the questions that you think will be asked. Listen to the entire sentence of passage.
-Answer the question as quickly as possible so that you can look at the next answer choices before you hear the next question (you have 12 second)
